Salvation is Not About Us

Written by:

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by your shortcomings? If you’re like me, prone to overthinking, looking inward only reveals failure, weakness, and sin. Doubts creep in—Am I really one of God’s children? How could He love someone like me? The weight of our imperfections can leave us feeling unworthy.

But salvation has never been about measuring up—whether to others or even to God’s expectations. If it were, we would all fall short. Salvation isn’t about our perfection; it’s about Christ’s. It’s not about looking inward, but upward—fixing our eyes on Jesus, His cross, and His empty tomb. That is where our worth and righteousness are found.

“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” – Hebrews 12:2

As we approach Easter, let’s remember: Jesus died for the broken, the guilty, and the lost—people like you and me. His resurrection from the dead secures our hope. Our salvation doesn’t rest on us, but on Him and His finished work on our behalf.
