We all walk through hard seasons in life where uncertainty, pain, or loss seems to put us on shaky ground. It is during these seasons that we are called to refocus on Jesus, who is not only the Lord of creation but also the Lord of our circumstances. Paul writes:
“He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” (Col 1:17)
Here’s something far greater than any theory of “intelligent design.” We have not a what but a Who: the God-Man, Jesus Christ, at the centre of creation and our circumstances. That means your situation is not spinning out of control. The same Christ who spoke galaxies into being (the observable universe spans roughly 93 billion light-years!) is the same Christ holding your life together, even when it feels like it’s falling apart.
Jesus Christ is both infinitely powerful and deeply personal. He sustains you with the same love He poured out on the cross. Sometimes God uses these hard seasons to draw us closer—to deepen our prayer, to teach us patience, humility, and simple trust. God often grows Christ-like character in the soil of suffering.
So when life feels shaky, remember: Christ remains steady. We may unravel, but His love still holds us firm.
Reflection:
- What would it look like to trust that He truly holds all things together (including me and my circumstances) today?
- How might this “hard season” shape me to reflect Christ’s patience and love?
